홍릉 수목원 Hong-leng arboretum

I just wow~ as I entered the arbortetum
The forest seemed to greet us delightfully. It was hard to believe that such beautiful arboretum exists in the central Seoul.
The arboretum has the remnants of Japan`s colonization of Korea, the brutal piece of history, since there used to be the grave of Empress Myeongseong.

Lovely flowers were in full blossom that enhance the vividness of spring.
How beautiful it would be if all the buds are in full blossom

It was good to see balloon flowers after a long time and I sang the national anthem with my
daughter in front of the national flower of Korea, Sharon.
We also enjoyed watching bees that were collecting honey for a while.

Unlike other arboretums, it is specialized arboretum that has forests for studies. Herbaceous plants, broadleaf trees, needle-leaf trees and other
medicinal plants grows in respective sections. It is told that it usually takes 3hours to tour the arboretum. I thought it was only a short walk but I was surprised to see that over 2hours had already passed when I hurried along to make my appointment with my daughter. I guess it wasn’t that boring.

We missed the programs provided for a forest explanation since our visit was a prompt decision. But, it would be very nice for you to visit there on time and to have opportunity to learn about fores forest with your children. Not only that but also participating in various kinds of programs
will be pleasant enough for your for your short picnic !!!

Remember,,it opens ONLY on every weekend. I hope you will have a nice picnic there with your family..
